Itsy-Bitsy 2023 Chardy
Couldn't load pickup availability
Itsy Bitsy is made from seven rows of Clone 5 Chardonnay planted in 1996. Redtail Creek is located in Rosa Glen, South-east of Margaret River, which experiences a larger diurnal range compared to the more coastal and Northern growing regions of the southwest. Soils on the block are loamy with a high content of white clay.
The 2023 vintage in Margaret River can only be described as exquisite, a cold winter slowed everything down from the start. This led to a gradual consistent ripening throughout the region, with no major climatic events or disease pressure. Itsy Bitsy was picked towards the end of February and despite a slightly lower yield, had great fruit concentration. Once picked the juice was fermented in one second year barrel and four stainless steel barrels. If the 2022 was Jura-esque, this wine is our dive into Chablis, with a more linear, mineral driven palate. The wine was bottled after twelve months aging in the barrel.
TASTING NOTES
